What Is The P-Shot And What Does It Do?
The P-Shot is based on PRP therapy used in recovery from muscle and joint injuries and explored for treating chronic health conditions.
In short, the P-Shot has been used as an alternative treatment in cases including:
- Erectile dysfunction (ED)
- Lichen sclerosus
- Peyronie’s disease, a condition in which scar tissue makes the penis curve when it’s erect
- Penis enhancement
- General sexual function, performance, and orgasm enhancement
How Does The P-Shot Work?
According to Dr. Richard Gaines, who provides the P-Shot along with other therapies at his LifeGaines practice, the benefits of this treatment on sexual performance may be attributed to:
- Increased blood flow
- Repair responses in some tissue or cells
- New neural pathways being established (from new experiences and positive reinforcement)

How Much Growth Can I Expect?
10 to 20% increase in length and girth. An inch in length (a little more) and in girth was seen in the first two patients in the first month. Girth came first (with the injection), then length (with continued growth).
You can also increase strength, pleasure and sensitivity, as well as size by design (placing shots in the base or the head).

Frequently Asked Questions
The P-Shot® procedure is a specific protocol for treating the
penis with blood-derived growth factors: specifically platelet-rich
plasma or PRP.
Multiple research studies have shown the safety and efficacy of
PRP treatments for ED, indicating an improvement in the health,
circulation, and strength (density) of penile tissue.
This treatment is natural in that your own cells are used, treated
with a chemical that is not foreign to the body, and injected into
the specified areas. Since growth factors from your own blood
(PRP) are used, there should be no side effects from the material
injected. The body reacts to the treated cells as it does to a
wound and immediately starts repairing the tissue. Within 2-4
weeks an increase in girth and length is common, typically
patients have reported a 10 to 20% increase in length and girth.
There’s actual growth of new tissue by stimulation of uni-potent
stem cells, so a change in size and/or shape is not from
something foreign being in the body but from the body actually
rejuvenating and growing.
Directly into the corpus cavernosum with a small needle, and into the head of the penis–in a way almost exactly as done with those who use injections for erectile dysfunction.
If you look at men who inject 3 to 5 times a week over many years for treatment for erectile dysfunction, there is about a 10% incidence of scar tissue formation. This is with multiple injections for years. With this procedure, there is only one injection, so the chances of scar tissue should be almost nothing. In the face, there has not been the report of any fibrosis or scar tissue formation.
A lidocaine cream is used (a strong version of what you might find in a spray to kill the pain of sunburn). It’s the same cream I use on the face before injecting the lips or other areas with Juvederm. The pain is about the same as a normal shot to the buttocks, perhaps less.
There may be some variation in achieving the results requested
as every man’s body type is different and may have a slightly
different response.
Due to circulation changes, smokers have a less positive
response to this treatment than non-smokers.
Other factors that may influence ED – those who may need
hormonal treatment, family counseling, or vascular surgery, as
well as those who may have other chronic health conditions or
who may be taking drugs that interfere with sexual function may
not have as great of a response to this treatment.
